Digital SAT Accessibility: Ensuring Equity for All Students

By Steven Darby - December 11, 2023

As the educational landscape evolves, ensuring accessibility and equity in standardized testing becomes crucial. In this blog, we'll explore how the Digital SAT addresses accessibility concerns and strives to provide an equitable testing experience for all students.

The transition to the Digital SAT takes accessibility to a new level, offering tools and features that cater to diverse learning needs. The digital format allows for greater flexibility in test administration, including extended time accommodations for eligible students. Additionally, the built-in accessibility features, such as zoom, highlighting, and line reader, provide options that can benefit students with visual impairments or reading challenges.

For students who require additional accommodations, the College Board's Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD) program continues to provide support. The transition to the digital format does not change the process for requesting accommodations; eligible students can still apply for the accommodations they need to succeed on the Digital SAT.

Furthermore, College Board's commitment to accessibility extends to resources for preparation. The Bluebook™ testing app and Official SAT Prep on Khan Academy® are designed to be inclusive and user-friendly for all students.

Stay tuned as we delve deeper into how the Digital SAT prioritizes accessibility and equity, ensuring that all students have the opportunity to showcase their skills and knowledge on a level playing field.
